This is a royal dance from Buganda region, its purpose was to entertain a young king and it was performed by the mushroom clan only. As time change, people of different clans started performing the dance for entertainment on different functions. In 2014 the katikiro of Buganda announced that nobody should perform the dance to the public unless requested by the king of Buganda. In other words, this dance is mainly performed for the king of Buganda alone.
